KNOWBOTIC RESEARCH Simulation Room -
Mosaique of Mobile Sound Data
We are a group of artists and scientists from the Academy
of Media Arts Cologne,( Kunsthochschule fr Medien) and will
be showing a VR installation inFebruary at the MEDIALE 93
(Festival for Media Arts and Media Future) in Hamburg, Germany.
The installation, a complex walk - in data - base, will be housed
in the freightship "Cap San Diego" in the Hamburg Harbour and will
utilise a selforganizing collection of sound samples from around
the world.
The sound data will correspond with a walk - in - real - room
and visitors will be able to navigate through it with the
aid of an mobile ultrasonic sensor and an artificial eye.
The actions of the visitor within the virtual organism will be
visualized on a video - data- screen.
We welcome your participation for the international sound- data- base:
All we need is a 5 -10 seconds sound sample, a cultural statement,
reflecting your personal attitude towards the "world".
Send via email or ftp.
All participants and institutions will be credited
in a publicly displayed database during the exhibition.
