Howdy,

I'm a grad student here at Carnegie Mellon and my background is in
architectural engineering. I working on an Independent Study dealing
with Total Building Performance.

Basically, the profs here argue that buildings should be designed based
on these 6 building mandates.

1) Building Integrity
2) Thermal Comfort
3) Acoustic Quality
4) Air Quality
5) Visual Quality
6) Spatial Quality

The interaction of these 6 and their psychological, physiological,
sociological economical impacts should be the driving force in design.

I am looking for companies and/or buildings that have been designed with
this approach in mind. I think every design professional thinks they do
have these things in mind and this topic may be a slippery fish. But,
any thoughts/ideas on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Robbe Courson
