Subject: Report to Congress in Electronic Form

The directory pub/fnc, available via anonymous ftp at
expres.cise.nsf.govC, contains The NREN Program - Report to
Congress" as issued by the Director of the Office of Science and Technology
on December 9, 1992 in THREE (3) formats, as Wordperfect 5.1, ASCII text
and as Post Script files.

The WP files contain all the fancy formatting information but must
be downloaded in BINARY format and used on a PC with Wordperfect.

The ASCII files have lost the formatting information but can be
downloaded as text files and read by anyone.

The Post Script files can be downloaded in text mode and sent to a
Post Script printer.

The files in pub/fnc are:

readme.txt this file Jan 93
nrencongr.ascii Dec 92
nrencongr.ps Dec 92
nrencongr.wpf Dec 92

We will be making available in this directory other public
documents as they are published. Please feel free to pass on this
information to anyone who wants a copy of the Report to Congress
and has access to the Internet.

We have tried out the 3 files and they work on our systems, but it
has not been extensive testing so let us know if you have trouble
printing or using the files. In particular, there are variations in
the format of Postscript so let me know if you have problems
printing this version. If you have any other problems drop me a
note.
