in the town of Quemado, NM and drives you out into the desert to the site.
It is an amazing experience all around; the journey, the desert, the rods shift
from reflecting light to sillouette as the sun moves across the sky.
There are many other earthworks in the southwest, but you must be willing to
drive long distances, arrange to meet guides, and have a tolerance for
the heat and dust of the desert.
