Announcing:

During the following months, Carl Eugene Loeffler, Project Director,
Telecommunications and Virtual Reality, STUDIO for Creative Inquiry,
CMU, will conduct presentations and technical demonstrations for:

Australian Multi-media Communications, Applications Workshop, Australia.

IEEE/CS Visual Language Symposium, Norway.

International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telepresence , Japan.

Machine Culture, Siggraph 93, USA

Tele-teach 93, Norway.

Third International Conference on Cyberspace, USA.

Virtual Reality, 1993 Washington D.C., USA.

In July, further activity will be conducted in Japan, and during August
Loeffler will conduct research with UNIK, University of Oslo, and
Norwegian Telecom Research (NTR), Norway.

The project investigates the basis for multiple users located in distant
geographical locations, to be conjoined in the same virtual, immersion
environment. It employs hardware associated with virtual reality, and
utilizes WorldToolKit, a virtual world development program, available
from Sense8 Corporation.

Technical demonstrations were conducted for the Expedition 92
Conference, Munich, Germany, and for the World Design Conference, Ford
Motor Company, Dearborn, USA. The Ford applications include a virtual
design studio, test driving track, and showroom.

Virtual Realities: Anthology of Industry and Culture, edited by Carl
