You are invited to participate in the international symposium
Public Graphics, visual information for everyday use.
Symposium overview
The symposium's objective is to provide an international forum
for the dissemination and exchange of scientific information
and practical experience on the development, design,
evaluation, and use of graphic products intended for the
public at large.
The topics of the symposium are:
- The design process, methodology and management
- User instructions, contents and format
- Warnings
- Forms
- Wayfinding, signs and sign systems
- Maps and plans
- Graphic symbols.
Leading experts in each area will give keynote speeches. In
addition, submitted papers on the topics will be presented.
Aim of the symposium
The Public Graphics symposium is especially organized to bring
together researchers and practitioners, from both industry and
academia, who are working to improve the effectiveness of
public information. As a joint meeting of practitioners and
researchers, the symposium should provide an opportunity to
discuss approaches to public information across disciplines.
Venue and date
The symposium will be held at "De Blije Werelt" in Lunteren in
the Netherlands, 26-30 September 1994. "De Blije Werelt" is a
comfortable and well equipped conference centre situated in
the heart of the Netherlands in a forested and quiet area.
