----The Conference

The Sixth International Conference on Engineering Computer Graphics and
Descriptive Geometry will be a continuation of the International Conferences
in this series held in Vancouver in 1978, Beijing in 1984, Vienna in 1988,
Miami in 1990 and Melbourne in 1992. The Sixth International Conference
is sponsored by the Engineering Design Graphics Division of the American
Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and co-sponsored by the
International Society for Geometry and Graphics (ISGG) and the Japan
Society for Graphic Science (JSGS). It will be hosted by the University of
Tokyo and held at Otsuma Women's University, Tokyo, Japan from 19 to 23
August 1994.

----The University of Tokyo

The University of Tokyo, recognized as one of the leading universities in
Japan, opened for classes in 1887. Today the University of Tokyo enrolles
over 19,000 students in the University's ten Faculties and Schools pursuing
bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.

----Conference Venue -Otsuma Women's University-

The Conference will be held at Otsuma women's University in Tokyo which
is located in the central part of downtown Tokyo and adjacent to the
Emperor's Palace.

----Conference Organization

The organization of the Conference is shared by a Japan Organizing
Committee, a Western Hemisphere Organizing Committee and the
International Steering Committee of the International Society for Graphics and
Geometry with the Conference secretariat located at the University of Tokyo,
Tokyo, Japan.

----Official Language

English will be the official language for the Conference. No simultaneous
translation is provided.

----Exhibition and Displays

It is proposed to hold an exhibition in conjunction with the Conference and
any organizations or participants wishing to exhibit or display are asked to
contact the Conference Secretariat.

----Pre-Registration Form

Intending participants are requested to complete and return the
pre-registration forms by July 1, 1993.

----Submission of Abstracts
Intending authors are invited to submit titles and abstracts of about 250
words appropriate to the subject of the Conference by October 15, 1993. All
abstracts must be submitted in triplicate for review by the Committee.

All papers should be submitted in English. Papers from USA, Canada, South
and Central America will be called for and selected by the Western
Hemisphere Organizing Committee. Papers from all other countries will be
reviewed by the Japan Organizing Committee. Complete manuscripts in
camera-ready form to be done on format paper are due on May 1, 1994.

------ Deadlines -----

*Submission of the pre-registration forms: July 1, 1993.
*Submission of a 250 words abstract: October 15, 1993.
*Notification of acceptance by: January 15, 1994.
*Submission of camera-ready copy for the Proceedings, prepared in
compliance with the requirements of the Conference Secretariat: May 1, 1994

The second announcement together with detailed information about conference
registration, hotel reservation and additional post-Conference tours will be
mailed to all participants in December 1993.

----- Cost Estimation

The Conference registration fee will be approximately US$300 which includes
a copy of the Conference proceedings, luncheon on each of the Conference
days. A Conference banquet, a half-day sight-seeing tour of Tokyo, a
one-day sight-seeing tour to Mt. Fuji will be available at special conference
rates. Housing accommodations will also be available at special conference
rates.

The registration fee for each accompanying person will be approximately
$100 including a half-day sight-seeing tour of Tokyo and additional
programs.
