At a guess there are 20 or 30 furniture or furniture-related design
courses in the UK, ranging from B/TEC courses in general art &
design; furniture; product design; to degree courses at both
undergraduate level (BA or BSc) and postgraduate level (MA or
similar) Additionally, some institutions award degrees by research
(MPhil or PhD) and sometimes specialist diplomas (for example design
for disability).

Among the courses available (this is a random selection) are:

DeMontfort University, Leicester: furniture; product
Loughborough College of Art & Design: craft furniture
Nottingham Trent University: furniture and related products
Ravensbourne College: furniture
Kingston University: product; furniture
Middlesex University: furniture; product
Buckinghamshire College: furniture; craft furniture; furniture
production
London College of Furniture: furniture; design for disability

Additionally, there are several specialist courses, for example:

Rycotewood College: craft furniture
Royal College of Art, London: furniture (MA level)
Parnham House, Dorset, John Makepeace School for Craftsmen: craft
furniture

Here in the UK all of the polytechnics have recently become
universities together with a small number of significant colleges
also. There is a wide range of opportunities.
