The Central Artery/Tunnel Project is the
largest public works project in the United
States. An essential component of rebuilding
Boston's infrastructure will be a comprehen-
sive public arts program. During the next
decade, the Artery Arts Program will incor-
porate at least 20 major permanent works of
public art and dozens of temporary works
into areas affected by the construction of
Boston's new highway, bridge, harbor tun-
nels, cityscape and parks.

Artists experienced in public art as well as
those with an interest in it are urged to
write to the Artery Arts Program to receive
a complete package of information, registra-
tion forms and instructions.
