The World Wide Web Newsletter
Travels in Cyberspace

Art Computers announces the first UK publication that focuses entirely on
the new global information systems and the myriad uses to which they are
being put. This is not a technical publication filled with unintelligible
goobledegook P it is a guide to using and exploring the Internet plus all
related systems and a source of hard information.

Although until recently a well kept secret, the global Internet is being
brought to everyoneUs atttention by developments here and abroard. The word
on everyoneUs lips is Tinformation superhighwayU, a term used by the US
Vice-President Al Gore to describe the potential of Internet technology.
The Internet is not a neat system that one subscribes to in the manner of a
telephone network -- it is a mass of competing and conflicting systems
that have come to terms with eachother only insofar as they have had to.

The World Wide Web Newsletter provides a key to the huge global computer
network known variously as the Internet, the Matrix, Cyberspace or the
World Wide Web. The internet consists of over 10,000 networks in 50
countries with an estimated 15 million users a day and a growth of 10% a
month.

With hard and software development proceeding at a frantic pace, it can
seem like an impossible task to keep up or even to know where to start.
There is gold in the networks, but there is a lot of lead as well. The
World Wide Web Newsletter will bring you the gold every other month.

The World Wide Web Newsletter (WWWN) will bring news and information about
this crucial resource to an audience who do not have the inclination to
plough through a deluge of information for useful nuggets. The Internet has
long been a well kept secret. Access in the UK and Europe has been
difficult for those not priveleged to belong to the academic elites. All
this is changing fast - more and more routes into this information
superhighway are available to those who know how.

The Internet is too big to be ignored. Funded initially for research
purposes in the academic world, it has grown to encompass every subject
known to mankind. It is
the global Internet, and that use is expanding by ten percent a month. John
Sculley, President of Apple Computers recently predicted that an
integrated network could help create a $3,500 billion market.

There are many current developments that are not strictly part of the
Internet, digital office systems, information services, electronic
publishing, multimedia developments. The World Wide Web Newsletter will
cover all of these as they relate to electronic communications and the
global Internet.
Hardware, and software is changing at a remarkable rate -- WWWN will cover
developments in these areas.

The Internet provides a resource of huge value and usefulness - and most of
it is entirely free! Once you are on, the world is at your fingertips - but
how do you know where to go, what to look for, who to ask for help?
The World Wide Web Newsletter will give you hard
reference and more. From multinational companies with wide-area networks to
teleworkers, everyone wants to get onto the Internet. The World Wide Web
Newsletter is designed as a compliment to a growing list of books and
electronic resources. The World Wide Web Newsletter is the only resource
that is updated every other month, that is written in a readable and
helpful style and that comes in a tried and tested format - printed matter.

The September/October 93 issue of the World Wide Web Newsletter is now
available direct from Art Computers and via selected book and computer
stores.

The WORLD WIDE WEB NEWSLETTER costs #24 for 6 issues including postage in
the UK and Europe, #42 elsewhere including airmail postage. Individual
issues #3 + #1 p&p.
