anne, (regarding schools with mfa's in computer art/design/etc)

without a doubt, try Ohio State University in Columbus, OH!!!!!!!!

i've seen a number of computer generated animation/videos on PBS that were
produced and made by OSU students in the program. it was exciting stuff.
the school has a good deal of money/support/resources and its computer
art program is unique. in addition, when i went there, they paid grad
students full tuition PLUS stipends for some hours of teaching....it was
standard procedure at the time and probably still will be.

all the best.
