I would recommend contacting the AIA, Washington, D.C. Some years ago
they sponsered a week-long seminar on seismic. Maybe they could give you
some leads. One of the seminars was at Stanford University. You might,
also, contact the Engineering College at Stanford. Also, U.C., Berkeley
used to have a specialist in seismic, Prof. Steinburge. He must have a
successor. Contact Berkeley.

That's about all I can recommend now. However, how does one protect against
the equivalent of an underground hydrogen bomb? Beats me.... Howard [Actually,
I do have some ideas about it, but they would be in adirction different from
the one you suggest.]
