ART OPENING IN SAN FRANCISCO Jan - March
LUMENAGERIE: Erotic images by Michael Manning will be on display from
January through the end of March at GOOD VIBRATIONS, 1210 Valencia
Street, San Francisco.
The 14 black and white drawings in the show explore the theme of sexual
transformation, both artificial and supernatural. Vampires, androgynes,
dominatrices, and their "creatures of light" pursue decadent unions
within the Lumenagerie.
Manning is a local comix artist/illustrator whose graphic tales of
gender-bending dominance and submission have been appearing in
self-publications such as Z/XERO, SHUNGA, UKIYO X, and SPIRAL since
1987. His work has also been featured in FRIGHTEN THE HORSES, TASTE OF
LATEX, SKIN TWO, SECRET, and BONESAW. HEAVY METAL/DIVA GRAPHIX will be
releasing Manning's new graphic novel, THE SPIDER GARDEN, in Spring of
94 with a book signing scheduled for March 30 at Good Vibrations. Call
