I only have one thing to say about the ethereal inbashing of architecture.
While the intellectuals are killing themselves over the definition of
aesthetics, hundreds of thousands Americans [and others] are literally
dying in the streets of the USA for lack of affordable shelter.
Pride has prevented us from utilizing appropriate technologies and
coming to our own aid. Third world countries may not have 2 cars
in every garage, but at lease almost everyone has some kind of home.
Poverty is a virtue in most religions. Why should a poor man be
homeless? Don't tell me that issues such as this are not essential
to the art and science of architecture.
