I am developing a Multimedia-Based Architectural Information System called
"ArchiTOUR" for my phd research project. ArchiTOUR is an educational
program that helps instructors/students teach and learn Architectural
History and Theory. The system includes three submodules and one of them
is "ArchiWAIS," an Architectural Information Retrieval System based on WAIS
(Wide-Area Information Server) technology. Types of multimedia supported
at this point inlcude text, images (PICT files) and 3d models (having my own
data format-not standard). I will also include other architectural media
such as drafting, sketches, diagrams, animation, sound, etc. I have
architectural databases on my Solaris (UNIX) machine and my ArchiWAIS client
system searches and retrieves the databases remotely. Since this is an
experimental project I am still working on, I don't want too many people take
access to my databases at the same time. However, I do want to get some
feedback from people who are interested in teaching/learning Architectural
History and Theory and developing/evaluating electronic tools for architects
and architectural students. Therefore, instead of distributing the system
to the public, I would like to hear from people who want to get the Macintosh
client system first. I will send the program to the limited number of people.
So please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks in advance.
Jin.
