Environmentally sound technology

Our college is about to begin renovation of its Science center, and we are
interested in environmentally sound technology for saving energy. I was
wondering if any of you architectural types out there might have some
references or suggestions for us. Any information about energy efficient
buildings that would be environmentally sould would be appreciated.
