As many of you know, or are aware, there is a great and growing field
of available design work in the United States in the area of
corrections facility (prison) design, within architecture. I am in the
process of assisting in the preparation of a proposal that would
include a small team of people, architects and consultants in related
fields, who have extensive and current experience in the various
aspects of this small area of architecture. This experience could be in
either the design, rehabilitation, or administration of corrections
facility design programs.

When assembled, this ad hoc group would be available as a consultant
body to an existing large international AE firm with extensive design
build experience on large public works projects, of other types, around
the US, and to others on an ad hoc basis.

I have noted that some of the other recent articles which have been
published in this news area have rightly focused on both the need for
architects to use computers in a more effective way in ever broader
areas of practice, and by using such means as are available on the
INTERNET as a means of forming a consultative group specific to a
special subject area within architecture, it may be possible to use the
system effectively as an enhanced inter office communication tool
linking many small practitioners with special expertise into a
coordinated working group.

If you have any suggestions relative to either possible team members
who could be evaluated for inclusion in this specific consultant group
on corrections facility design, or representative, but not widely
published recent projects, which demonstate innovation or excellence in
design within this field please respond via EMail to:
