Has anybody seen the current "QueerSpace" exhibit at NYC's Storefront? I
have yet to read anything by Muschamp.

It seems plausible that architecture can discriminate against one's sexual
orientation. Mike Davis' "defensive space" speaks of a classist
seggregation fueled by surburban flight paranoia. Post-Watts Riot /King
uprising fortification ala Bunker Hillization in Los Angeles and "armed
response" gated communities all too clearly point out the racist/classcist
reactionary retrenching of a community without an open-minded attempt to
understand the situation.

Torre/Colomina/Ghirardo investigate gender and space. The housewife was
/is relegated to her space of labor, that of the kitchen/laundry rm/sewing
rm while the breadwinner "man" had/has his studio/smoke room/den. House
chore spaces were/are compartmentalized , relegated and hidden to a
service core in the back of the house, while the man's room/s were/are
extensions of the living rooms and other entertainment(vs houseWORK)
induced rooms.

The Queer Space Exhibit should prove to be revealing.
