To All:
When I sent out a request for the locations of scanned artwork, I got a
pretty healty response. Several people asked me to pass anything I found
out onto them, so I've appended the suggestions I got into one big message
for all to see. I haven't had time to verify all of these locations yet
because there are so many of them, so you can expect a little adventure
in finding exactly what you want.
Thank you all, and if any more recommendations come in I'll pass them
on too.

I'm pasting these into my mailer just as I found them.
First, the Usenet .pictures groups. These are newsgroups full of
uuencoded binaries: .gifs and .jpegs. They won't do you much good,
but if you are seeking something in particular, maybe I can
snarf it for you.

Now, the FTP sites that had the string "art" in directory names.
You'll have to check these out yourself- usually the sites contain

We've just started it, and we plan to put the artworks under a
subdirectory in there.
The ftp is anonymous login (use your e-mail address for a password).

of our resource files, though. Some describe many arts related INternet
resources. Go to the directory /pub/faculty.ed/resources.

The Dallas Museum of Art will have ftp access later this year. For now,
images and text are available through teleneting to gopher.unt.edu, at
the login type "gopher." At the menu, you'll find us under #5 Denton,
Dallas, Ft.Worth Information Resources. We currently have 120+ images
and text available of our Museums of America, Europe and Contemporary Art.
If you have access to CompuServe, the same images will be available in
