My start was a 1923 "Le Ciel" , Atlas d'astronomie pittoresque (sic) , published by Larousse, and in the last chapter the recent (?) einstein theory about relativity was mentioned as a fresh starting point ....(and the pict was there)

and as an introduction such text is still quite correct...

even if as a conclusion the writer concludes the discussion is still open , as some verifications were still on the works.

and the magic formula E=mc2 is not mentioned , yet.

actually right now some fine tuned experiments are in process, using precise gyroscopes aboard a satellite.
