interesting Steve. i just spent the last
hour trying to locate the estate (chestnut
hill, too) on the National Atlas, Yahoo Maps,
and Google maps, all with no success. i was
hoping to get the same geography you had in
the aerial map in a 2D map, and look at the
geology (national atlas), home depot stores
(yahoo, maybe, or other stores/retail, etc.)
and google just to get a sense of the grid.
it ended up unsucessfully (and very slow by
way of modem) though i wanted to share the
attempt/idea, to extend these hidden maps
of commerce and place them in one context.
a lot could be done with weather satellite
imagery (radar of cities) and buildings or
sites, radiation, ozone, commerce, etc.
i like how you tied the imagery together,
between plan/elevation. maybe future bldg
documentation will have satellite shots of
the construction site, over time, so going
from dirt to constructing vertical shadows.
