Re: [design] WTC Memorial Park vs Ground Zero (1)

Brian observes:
<the WTC redevelopment effort is not the result
of securing the aims and goals of uniquely commemorating
the events, ideas, and emotions of 9/11 in a memorial.
instead, the questions about which the master plan has
been made to revolve are those of a private businessman.>

the ZONING decisions which have resulted in placing a
building type such a museum, which uses the structural
form of a parking garage hovering above the 9/11 voids
said to commemorate the loss, pain, grief, and sorrow
for eternity, is another example of trying to reverse-
engineer public participation in the private process
of developing the site, organized by its real estate.
these are glaring mistakes in the goals of the project.>

These observations serve to reinforce the superiority of striving for "control" of events and people.
Following the stream of money usually leads to who is in control. The people are vanquished.
The people don't have leaders. Its sadly appropriate that the same old same old is going to be
happening again in the master plan rebuilding. imo no human progress is being made, but how could we
expect that when it would signify defeat? like the dominator and the dominated, capitalism/marxism,
feminism, freudism, formalism-modernism/postmodernism ideologies, the present solutions fit right in
to the event's (the event itself is referential to spectacle) resulting "plan." i may be pretty radical, but
a "non-plan," a non-architecturally directly response may be an "un-approach" to this. Is that
a modernist view? How else to keep the flow of money out and allow the flow of unbiased thought in?
A cathedral wall? [CATHEDRAL: the main church of a bishop's see, containing the cathedra. loosely,
any large, imposing church.. official, authoritative. CATHEDRA: a chair, office of a teacher, a seat,
bench. the seat of a bishop in a cathedral.] It seems we could go more into nature, much more, than
a cathedral wall which attempts to control nature and circumstances rather than harmonize with them.

Consider these two human expressions in relation to each other.
