Chris. Just a quick clarification. Lacoue-Labarthe says, and has said
repeatedly, that Heidegger's "repudiation" of National Socialism was
based on his sense that the Nazis weren't "Nazi" enough for him. Your
line about H's repudiation of Nazism seems to presuppose that such a
repudiation would go in only one direction (i.e. into a liberal
condemnation).

I think Lacoue-Labarthe raises some serious issues in his account of
Heidegger's politics, and that we would miss the point to say that the
direction one's thinking on this matter must take would be to conclude
that "NS had something going for it." There's a harder question in here
somewhere that we keep missing, and that I think Lacoue-Labarthe comes
much closer to grasping than your comment gives him credit for.
