Is it correct to infer, especially from his ideological confession, that
Heidegger's (as opposed to the Frankfurt school's) was not a modern
consciousness; a 19th century sensibility, his project, "existential phenomenology,"
essentially a further working, updating and deepening, of Hegel's phenomenology?
Dasein = Giest and Hitler = Napoleon? that, after all, his consciousness lacked the nihilistic
outlook, with all that implies re intellectual sobriety and lucidity? that, thence, here
lies the source of his error, the mystical "discovering the destiny of German Dasein" in Nazism,
instead of some mundane measured marxian Frankfurt formulation as "social maturation".
