UPA govt sets decision making record

NEW DELHI: The union government has set a record pace
in decision-making, taking up as many as 832 cases in
136 meetings of the cabinet and its committees during
the last year, exceeding the business transacted in
any of the previous ten years.

The cabinet met 61 times, at an average of more than
once a week, to consider 503 cases, said a release
issued by the prime minister's office (PMO) Thursday.

Giving a break down of the meetings, the PMO said the
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) met 38
times to consider 203 cases and was able to
expeditiously finalise matters, including many cases
with significant developmental implications.

Renewal Mission, a scheme for supporting
public-private partnership in infrastructure, ...
