City areas earmarked for JNNURM project

CITY LIMITS to be developed under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban
Renewal Mission (JNNURM) have been earmarked by officials of the Kanpur
Municipal Corporation (KMC).
Under the Rs 10,000 crore project, development work will be carried out up
to Dahi Chowki crossing at Lucknow Road, Sarsaul at Allahabad Road,
Ghatampur at Hamirpur Road, Rania at Kalpi Road, Chaubepur and Bithoor at
Kannauj Road.
An official list regarding the city limits to be covered under the JNNURM
was handed over to officials concerned with the project. Apart from these
areas, all gram panchayats and gram sabhas have also been incorporated in
the project and overall development of these areas will also be carried
out under the project.
Municipal commissioner Arvind Singh has appointed chief engineer of KDA as
nodal officer of the JNNURM...
