Gujarat has become the first state to come up with City Development Plans making it eligible for Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission funds.
It has come up with draft City Development Plans in record time not just for Ahmedabad but for Surat and Vadodara as well.

The Urban Development Ministry has referred the three-city Gujarat draft CDPs to the National Institute for Urban Affairs and National Institute for Public Finance and Policy for appraisal.
