Dikshit emphasised on the urgent requirement of providing space for the
displaced JJ dwellers for their temporary settlement on humanitarian
grounds, as they are facing problems on road in addition to the problems of
in-sanitation.

Dikshit has directed her Cabinet members to monitor temporary settlement of
slum dwellers and provision of all required basic amenities on day-to-day
basis. She also directed the Health Department to provide necessary health
coverage and DJB has been directed to make Jal Board water available to
them. The Government also directed distribution company NDPL to provide
street lighting in the transit camp.

The Cabinet also decided that Slum and JJ Department would immediately
earmark an area of 25 acre of land in Savada Ghevra and develop it
immediately for temporary rehabilitation.
