Delhi Metro seeks to raise funds for phase-II
Of the total amount raised from commercial sources, 50% will be received
upfront while the other half will flow in every month. At present,
non-operational revenues account for around 25% of the fare collection.
The total cost of 53-km second phase has been estimated at Rs 8,118 crore.
While 48% of this will be financed through a JBIC soft loan, 38% will come
from the increased equity of the central and state governments.
The balance 14% is expected to be mopped up through commercial activity. The
authorised capital is Rs 6000 crore now, while the paid-up capital is Rs
2928 crore. The latter represents 28% of the first phase project cost.
