... Stating that Union Urban Development Minister
Jaipal Reddy, his deputy Ajay Maken and the party had
been able to resolve issues facing Delhi including
demolitions and sealing, Mr. Gehlot said the
legislation passed by Parliament had brought respite
to lakhs of families. Urging the party workers to join
hands to face challenges in future, Mr. Gehlot said
the time had come for the party and the Government to
prepare for elections to the Municipal Corporation of
Delhi due early next year...

Addressing the party workers, Mr. Ram Babu Sharma said
the party was standing like a rock behind its
president Sonia Gandhi who had shown the path of
sacrifice to the people of the country. Stating that
Delhi was plagued with a lot of problems, Mr. Sharma
demanded that Statehood to Delhi be granted at the
earliest so that it was able to set right various
complex situations on its own without having to look
towards the Central Government. Similarly, he assured
that work was already under way for regularisation of
1,400 unauthorised colonies across the Capital and
said the new Master Plan for Delhi-2021 would reflect
the sentiments of the masses and be in tune with the
ground realities. Mr. Sharma said it was for the first
time that a government at the Centre had shown concern
for those living in slum clusters, hawkers and vendors
and the new Master Plan was being framed with their
uplift in mind...

The Chief Minister wrapped up the proceedings for the
day by asking party workers to highlight the
achievements of the Government among the people...
