Discussion with L-G on the need to redefine household industries
NEW DELHI:

Led by PHDCCI president Sanjay Bhatia and comprising senior members, the delegation pointed out to the Lieutenant-Governor several policy issues relating to the Master Plan for Delhi-2021 that need to be addressed, particularly the work on zonal plans.

Mr. Khanna informed the delegation that a committee had been constituted under his chairmanship to monitor the progress of work on a monthly basis. PHDCCI representative would also be invited to the committee.
During the discussions, Mr. Bhatia pointed out the need for re-assessing the role of DDA and confine it to an infrastructure provider from the present primary responsibility as a house provider. He also dwelt on the need for scientific handing of waste management, application of Information Technology to improve traffic management, introduction of feeder services to enhance efficiency of Metro rail services and to develop Delhi city as a ``knowledge and cultural centre”.

Mr. Khanna also emphasised the need for setting up of the Delhi Real Estate Commission to take up digitisation of land records. He also sought active participation of the Chamber in tourism promotion and maintenance of historic monuments.
