Prof Neeraja Tikku from the School of Planning and Architecture, who headed the team that designed the building, said: “The most striking feature of this energy-efficient building is the fact that 80 per cent of it will be non-airconditioned. Traditional methods will be used for cooling. Chilled water will run through pipes embedded in the floor slabs.”
