In May MoUD had issued Public Notice inviting
objections to change of landuse in Idgah area from
residential to extensive industrial with leave to set
up H-category unit (abattoir). After a meeting at IIC
on 02 June about 70 objections were filed, a few of
which are on Delhi Master Plan 2021 Minder, along with
prior correspondence about defects in Public Notice
and subsequent correspondence about its subversion by
announcement of global tender for modernization of
existing Idgah abattoir.
Last week Mr Karandikar, who had filed an objection
after the IIC meeting, received a phone call from DDA
asking him to come over to make clarifications about
his objection and he called me for the same. I
requested him to, instead, seek clarification of
procedure being followed and to insist that before
asking about minor details MoUD/DDA answer substantive
questions raised in the objections.
The lapse on procedures seems incredible in the case
of this Public Notice and I request for someone who
had objected to take responsibility for collective
engagement about this. To me a meeting of those who
had objected seems in order.
