Re: rough school, chris mahon.

Dear Jocelyn,

I wrote a long post to you on this, all about how I am not really a bad
teacher, etc. But the system crashes on me, and I loose it all. So can I
just cut to the chase and thank you for the refs?

Do you know author or title?

I am sure it would help you. maybe you don't open yourself up enough to
these children,

On the contrary. But you have to know how and when. Meanwhile there is the
agro. The agro is like a test.

I don't know what you mean about being bashed, beaten up, or mental
degradation ?

Bashed: By staff who behave as though YOU are just another naughty boy.
Beaten up: By students who turn your small acts of kindness into badges of
your disgrace.
Mental degradation: By becoming a cop.

would'nt it help if all the teachers worked together to achieve some
community feelings ,

At the moment, I reach some of these kids only in isolated moments. Where we
talk as human beings. You see these same kids whom I reach in this 15
minutes where we might discuss .... will tomorrow make that moment into a
term of abuse, as they did the day before yesterday. One must have one's
heart elsewhere, otherwise one becomes like the other teachers, vengeful. I
have a heart.

:) Chris
