i know there has been lots of discussion as to who/what were the targets
of the wtc attack: the buildings as artifacts, the buildings as symbols,
the owners of the buildings, the people in them, the american people, etc.

i'm sure it's some combination, and that we'll be talking about this for
centuries ...
