Re: ideology stuff

Sorry about the length of that. All pretty ambiguous at the end, I know.
An a

this fit with

conecption of the ideo
gical?

D&G are certainly critiquing Althusser. I have not read much of Zizek, but
from what i have read i wuold have to say that his concept of idelogy
would not set well with D&G. They Totally reject ideology. I don not think
one should try to make Deleuze or D&G fit other French thinkers. Deleuze's
philosophy is simply quite different. If you hve not noticed, Deleuze
respects a good deal of empirical and Anglo-American philosophy, contrary
to other continental thinkers. THE FOLD and WHAT IS PHILOSOPHY?, two of
Deleuze's more recent works, discuss Whitehead, Russel, Frege and othrs
a lot.

this may be naive, but why is it important to hang on to ideology as a
concept or category. When we do away with autonomus subjectivity--free
will--'ideology' appears to become a non-issue. Do others think this
is absurd? Obviously D&G do not, but i would like to hear what others have
to say.
