It is possible that this list was down for a while this evening. If
you have posted a message and not seen it appear, please resend if you can.
A syntactically incorrect address got subbed to the list, which causes
majordomo to become catatonic and to lose messages. This effect, however,
was in our particular case counteracted by a general traffic jam at
world.std.com, which has caused message processing to be delayed
precisely during the period of the invalid address' residency on the list.
Let me use this opportunity to remind you that majordomo does have
this horrid characteristic, and that consequently you should try to
keep copies of messages you send to majordomo lists until you have
seen them safely delivered. We (i.e. the Spoon people who do the
admin work) try to catch bad addresses at the moment of subscription,
but aren't always successful.
