The 12th Annual Symposium on Small Computers in the Arts
SCAN 92

Friday, November 6th through Sunday, November 8th

at The Franklin Institute Science Museum
Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 20th Street
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

featuring presentations by fifty electronic artists of diverse
disciplines in the Music, Visual and Performing Arts exploring topics
in electronic music, computer graphics, animation, computer-aided
design, interactive sculpture and electronic multimedia.

We are holding an Events Reception on the evening of
Thursday, November 5th, 1992 for the new
CYBERSPACE IN MUSIC THERAPY exhibits,
the permiere of NINJA HIGH SCHOOL CD-Comic,
and the SCAN Art Show,
featuring a VIDEO ART BAR.

Our keynote speaker is STEPHANIE SLADE
organizer of the International Painting Interactive at SIGGRAPH '92: a
real-time event in which artists from up to 14 remote sites painted on
a single "electronic canvas" simultaneously via network and phone
lines!

The Franklin Institute will host SCAN's exhibition of
interdisciplinary computer artwork including prints, sculpture,
textiles, video & much more!
Exhibition dates are November 5th-22nd, 1992.
Cyberspace in Music Therapy exhibit until December 15th.

ELECTRONIC MUSIC CONCERTS
will be held Friday and Saturday evenings featuring John Greenland,
Tom Metcalf, Chuck van Zyl, among others. Sylvia Pengilly of Loyola
University will perform multimedia dance compositions. JP Lewis of
NEC Research, Princeton, will demonstrate his MIDI body suit.

Full Symposium registration is $145, $160 at the door.
Student registration is $45, $60 at the door.
Thursday night reception alone is $25.

The Franklin Institute Science Museum is a major sponsor for this event.
