Subject: Are famous architects a dying breed ?

I read an interesting article by Martin Pawley in a recent AJ which
argued that because of the craze of listing modern buildings ( because

it increased the power of quasi government depts) clients were
starting to avoid using famous name architects. Since if they did then

they were likely to be saddled with a building that would in time
become listed and then the client would be unable to alter it as
required for their business. The net effect was that it was no longer
good to be famous architecturally because the work dries up, and
obscurity could become the fashion !

So like a good argument from those who would really like to be famous!

I have not seen Richard Rogers and the like struggling.
