Re: for the record (fwd)

Kunstler's tough guy syntax is vintage Scott Meredith Agency,
the bottler of Norman Mailer Swineyards and his emulators of
smart guys nostalgic for hard-drinking (like the porch scene that
opens Home From Nowhere) and cross-dressing their "intellects" in
mercenary cammies for the market. Like the New Urbanists dress
their structures in the facades of heritage white supremacists.

Hemingwayesque, these guys, confused about their identity.
Without the guts to bite the shotgun, instead just fiercely jack-off
about the way it used to be when bold, hard-cussing men were in
charge, rueing their waning talent, and begging to be stroked by a talent
agent or serial wife every ready to roll out at toothless quote in lieu of
art and learning, per Jonathan Cohen's post of JK's masturbatory bio.
