Re: Drop the Price of Gasoline!

Wrong! The low price of gasoline pays for our sprawl, our lack of cities
(excepting the few great ones built before the proliferation of the car),
our pollution, our downtowns of parking with a few buildings in between,
our attitudes about place, our aesthetic about the physical environment. I
for one, will buy gasoline tomorrow and will even fill up the lawnmower.

another steve replies:

as always there are two sides to every story, and I think steve astutely
discloses that other side that we too often fail to recognize. finger
pointing in front of a mirror would answer most of the question of who is
really to blame here. i also think steve's comment raises issues that very
much fall within the metabolic nature of our times.
