Re: map

Staten Islanders, who have fought Fresh Kills for decades as a toxic,
noxious blight on their quality of lives and property values, imposed by
arrogant Manhattan-snotty New York City administrations, are now
charmed by the notion of a memorial there in their midst.

Surrounding Fresh Kills is a demilitarized zone defined by the limits
of unbearable smell, which would be perfect for tourist accommodations.

First, though, is to arrange a piece of the griefing and terrorism-fighting
moola, the first for exanding the sacred ground atop the landfill, the
second to boost the patriotic memorial.

The head of NYPD detectives who gives the press tours of the
investigative site lives on Staten Island. He repeatedly tells the
press that the site is not a dump but a sacred site. He says this
aggressively as if promoting a dream.

The chief detective also proclaims that the investigative site
is not about investigating crime, "we know what the crime is,
and what caused it, the attacking aircraft," and the site is
being operated "for the victim families."

Not a word about about the other crimes: failure to prevent
the terrorist attack, and failure of the WTC towers to be safe
for occupancy and to withstand the often predicted attack.

To be sure, the detective is working hard to help municipal,
state and federal governments from being attacked by the
victims' families. Thus, Protech, Voorsanger, AIA and a host
of others have been enlisted to rouge the corpses with
officially prescribed grief and quiet money even as the poor
non-Manhattanites continue to be dug out of the shamefilled
hole.

Most happily, the new NYPD head has brought in a former
Marine General to head counterterrorism, and a former CIA
head of espionage to head intelligence. Kelly freely admits
that the main attribute of the two are their DC connections
to marshal national bonanza for the pitifully wounded city.
And to be sure, deal with any local miscreants who dare
to challenge the domestic raid on the city, state and nation.

Will there be a backlash against NYC coverup of the coverups?
And a backlash against the backlash. You betcha.

As the ex-CIA said when asked if he had ever visited the CIA
station in destroyed WTC 7, "check the records in that office."

One neat revelation of the WTC excavation: it shows the old
railroad tunnel that was converted to use for shifting enormous
amounts of US dollars and gold from the Federal Reserve Bank
and WTC basement. A rumor about the tunnel was long denied
by officials.

We've been photographing the hazardous conditions caused by
unmaintained temporary services along city streets and sidewalks
around WTC. Near the Federal Reserve Bank we were questioned
by one of the 24x7 federal protective services guards on what we
were doing. We explained the purpose of the survey and pointed out
terrific dangers to pedestrians of the dilapidated "emergency"
services. He said, interesting, that he had never noticed that
before so alert was he to protecting the magisterial landmark.

We've found cops generally have no comprehension of envionmental
dangers, and are instructed by superiors to take no action on
complaints, to instead refer the firghtened bitchers to the Building
Department or Department of Health -- black holes of unresponsiveness.

Firemen are slightly different in that they are responsive to fire hazards
of the environment but oblivious to any other environmental threat.

Turf is everything, so why should architects ever care about anything
except getting jobs to rouge the most venally murderous people in the
world. You may think this is about the US Government but not so, nor
is it about capitalism. This is about niche-obsessed, crippling education.
