hi Michael. could you explain this a bit more as it
makes sense though i do not know why, exactly.
are you saying that, in some way, terrorism is like
an audit of a designed system (of security), which
insecurity (or, terrorism in the extreme) is brought
into the system, to balance all the many aspects?
does terrorism end a 'wishful thinking' of design,
as with crime or other things (homelessness) in
terms of the more utopian goals otherwise that
may not be addressed by the design's reality?
(say, the WTC having catastrophic failure, of a
scale and symbolism as that of the Titanic). it is
wondered, had not thought of it this way... brian

'terrorism' is embedded in 'designed systems'.

when i lived in israel, there was an unspoken though implicit
satisfaction every time a 'terrorist' bomb went off in a bus station.
each 'terrorist' event was further validation of official terrorism.
