Steve, i just had this thought - wondering if
growing up in Philadelphia (assuming you did)
was how you became so involved and literate in
architecture (i.e. depth of imagination and of
perception) or even if it was Whitehall or any
other particular buildings that may have had
an early influence. i think i remember your
once mentioning your mother though i wonder
about Philadelphia, if it was a particular
aura of buildings in that particular place
that may have sparked something or if it is
secondary. not to delve into your personal
life though i wondered if maybe if you are
an evolution of the genius loci/spirit of
place, there, an outcome of architectural
or other (urban/space-time machine of the
reenacting) forces, etc. just curious. and
so am asking just in case it is relevant.
