A first year student trying to wrestle with the Critique of Pure Reason is
better off staying away from Heidegger for a few years and struggling with
the text. There are a variety of well known English commentaries but stay
away from Norman Kemp Smith's and the "patchwork hypothesis " people : you
will be needlessly confused. .
Also better to study Kant's predecessors, Descartes, Leibniz and Hume
before launching into the man from Messkirch.
