What is a Thing?

I am in the initial stages of a reserach project
concering Kant and Heidegger's respective understandings
of objectivity. I am specifically interested in Heidegger's
treatment of Kant in "What is a thing?"...

Where does this work 'fit' in Heidegger's thought?
What does Heidegger acually accomplish with
this close rereading or even re-rereading
of Kant's First Critique?

(NOTE: i am just a lowly undergrad)
