GCM2: NO! He persecuted Catholics himself when he was Rector of Freiburg per Schneeburger who in the sixties was ridiculed because he insisted Heidegger was a real, true, full-blown Nazi!

the word "persecution" - that you should have done that right away?
GCM2: Schneeberger, Guido, NACHLESE ZU HEIDEGGER, Bern, 1962. I read the English translation long ago published by Philosophical Library. Schneeburger writes no commentary but published all the public speeches, records, and announcements made in the name of the Rector while he was Rector. Several of these had to do with the suppression of Catholic student organizations, their meetings, and their newspaper. Of course, a public announcement printed on paper could have been made by anyone in his name, but is it likely they did it either without his initiative or at least approval?

It's an article from "Der Alemanne", revolutionary gazette of the national socialists of Oberbaden,
a philosophical review - Jews and Catholics not mentioned - i must say, Gary, by far superior
to your equations of Heidegger and Hume. Good understanding of H's relation to Kant and Aristoteles.
Read it, i'd say, there's a lot for you to learn in Schneeberger.
