RE: a textual question in the midst

Marilynn, James,

The German "Was heisst Denken" itself allows different readings.
In the prima facie reading "What is called thinking?" one
recognizes the metaphysical question "What is..."
In the book, Heidegger identifies the same metaphysical thinking
in its endphase (Nietzsche), with nachstellen, preying, bringing
conflicting power under control, as the way a perspective solidifies
itself in order to extend its power.

GOING THROUGH the metaphysical necessity that is behind Nietzsche's
will-to-power, one might be able (willing) to hear a different tone
in the question. A tone that is all-decisive, because the subject,
the what-about of the question, is changed by it.
Not thinking ('preying') is the primarily asked for ('preyed') in the
formula "What is thinking?", but that which calls for thinking.
"The origin of thinking lies for this same thinking in the dark" - this
lying in the dark is how it 'heisst', orders, comes-to thinking as Andenken.
An ordering, however, and as we can see, not by power, but by offering a
chance, that can be taken or neglected.

This all looks probably labored, but that's part of the game: once one
gets accustomed to the change of tone, and of subject (also the agent
of thinking), it all turns around.

Something like that MUST happen, folks, otherwise one would never
get out (of the desert).

(or one must prefer Jud's humanism, which, as can be witnessed, is just racism)
