Re: actual and virtual


Jon's remarks on my simplification of the actual and the virtual are
absolutely correct. My interest in this post was in emphasizing the
time/space distinction in Deleuze's work, and, just as importantly,
to bring out the importance of the development of the concept of the
fold to the actual and the vitual versus the possible and the real. This
is expressed vehemently by Deleuze in D&R. Leibniz's possible/real
falls under attack more openly in D&R than it does in the FOLD. But it
is in THE FOLD too.
