I must say that i agree with you Nathan. I am not familiar with Laclau,
so i can't comment on that. I read critchley's (did i spell that right)
book about 6 months ago, but found the ethic presented to be quite
christian, which Deleuze, following Nietzsche, is trying to get away
from.

i am not attempting to give a total and accurate characterization of
Derrida. Like Derrida does when reading a text, i tried to find the
major argument (which is differance, which renders undecidability)
and to show what i thought were the problems with it. As i said, i am
arguing from d&g's perspective. From what i am able to gather from
d&g's work on semiotics, negative difference of Saussurian semiology
is merely the flip side of an "objectivist's" or humanist's idea of
clear and distinct meaning. Thus d & g emphasize, as they always do,
force and social conditions.
